For Lydia Kalmen-Tran, performing is the family business. Her Dad is a musician and her Aunt owns a dance studio. Lydia grew up dancing competitively with her Aunt's studio in ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical dance. While taking a youth musical theater workshop at Binghamton University, the acting bug bit. Since moving to NYC, Lydia has appeared in several Off and Off-Off Broadway shows as well as indie films and TV shows. Though the industry took a hit during the pandemic, Lydia's passion and drive for her art never waned. She filmed horror indie The Dark Offerings during lockdown, took classes, and worked on the business side of showbiz. As the world started opening back up, Lydia filmed three short films, two pilots, and signed with a talent agent. She returned to the Off Broadway stage in the 2022 Downtown Urban Arts Festival in Socky Tells All at Theatre Row Stages.
As the leaves change color, autumn has brought Lydia a season of exciting new beginnings. First...she got married!! Lydia is an ecstatically happy newly wed. She has decided to continue using her legal name as her professional name, hence the rebranding to LYDIA KALMEN-TRAN. A new hairdo to top it off, and with that new headshots. Lydia is ready to rock-n-roll!!
